Lie to me!??

Many of you may already know that during my 15-year career as an investigator with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), I was trained by Dr. Paul Ekman, who’s scientific research is highlighted in the new FOX hit drama series called, “LIE TO ME!” But did you know that the main character who is named “Dr. Cal Lightman” (played by Tim Roth) is really a combination of two people? Paul Ekman and J.J. Newberry!
For over 10-years, Ekman worked with J.J. Newberry, the CEO of the Institute of Analytic Interviewing, where J.J. would combine Ekman’s research with his own natural ability to detect deception in interrogation rooms, jail cells, and at crime scenes from the United States to Mexico to Canada to England to Austrailia. J.J. is a retired award-winning ATF special agent. Both Ekman and J.J. have been tested by Dr. Maureen O’Sullivan on their ability to detect deception. Of 20,000 people tested for the ability to detect deception, Dr. O’Sullivan found 31, who she calls “Truth Wizards.” A Truth Wizzard is someone who is usually able to tell whether the person is lying with at least 80% accuracy.
Ekman is NOT a Truth Wizzard, but J.J. is the #1 Truth Wizzard in the WORLD. The law enforcement community calls J.J. the “Human Lie Detector.”
And did you also know that Brian Grazer, one of the producers of LIE TO ME! met with J.J. numerous times over the past 5-years probing J.J. for stories about his life. Yet, no mention of J.J. in the credits…. However, the first episode started with an arson case, which involved ATF special agents.
And… THAT’S THE TRUTH!
